I’ve tried to answer all the questions I commonly get asked at the start of a web design project below. If I haven’t managed to answer your questions or concerns, feel free to ask me a question.
From start to finish, the whole web design process can be completed in just one month. Bear in mind that this does depend on you viewing and approving my work as speedily as possible, so please make sure you have plenty of time in your calendar each week to review my progress as we go along.
I only schedule a small number of clients per month so I can dedicate plenty of time to your website. Once you’ve submitted the Hire Me form, I’ll be able to tell you my availability to start the project and a more accurate idea of timescales.
There are two additional costs involved in any web design project:
- Domain name: If you don’t already own a domain name or ‘URL’, I can help you to purchase one for your business. This usually costs around $10 – $15 per year*, but can depend on the name you choose. You’ll need to renew this every year which is done automatically through the domain registrar.
- Hosting: If you require hosting, I offer hosting packages from £15 per month which include free backups and updates, advanced security, page caching for better performance, and more.
*Prices are in US dollars here because many of the domain name registrars are US-based. You’re looking at around £6-£10.
As standard, I’ll take 50% as a deposit at the beginning of the project, with the remainder due once you’ve approved the test site and before it goes live – or after 45 days, whichever comes first.
I take payments via credit card using Stripe or via bank transfer.
If you would prefer to pay in monthly instalments, please let me know in the Hire Me form and I can put together a package to suit you.
Packages include 3 months of free email support, meaning I’ll be on hand to assist with any technical problems or questions you may have about using the site.
My sites are built on a Content Management System, giving you access to and control over your website content. If you need assistance adding and updating the content, or simply would like me on hand for technical and design support, I also offer a range of low-cost monthly maintenance packages.

Don’t sweat it. I’m happy to be flexible, so if you want to change your mind or add anything new, that won’t be a problem as I’ll simply provide a separate estimate to cover the additional work.
Not a problem, if you purchase one of my custom website packages you can add on logo design for just £250. This is payable as part of the first payment. This includes up to 3 design concepts and FREE banners for your social media profiles. If you’d prefer not to purchase a logo design add-on, I will use a lettermark logo on your site (see here for example).
